Healthy can be hard, especially alone. This application has a deep well of features to connect anyone with a variety of healthcare professionals and wellness providers. From an ecommerce storefront to virtual appointments to planning and tracking all things healthy.
My official title was Director of User Experience, but in reality I was responsible for UX, UI design and development, product design, software testing, and user onboarding and success (we were a small team). I took the vision of our business leadership and the desires of a users and partners and translated it into technology.
Software can be scary. Learning a new tool, or transitioning away from an old pattern that may have been clunky but worked, it's difficult. The UX was designed to let users flow through common patterns yet still have access to a large array of features.
Many features of the platform were used by both the individual users and the professionals, sometimes even when they were in the same room. UI was built to be consistent but extensible if additional elements were needed for one side or the other.
In 2020, a decision to pivot was made. The platform needed to maintain its existing user base while transitioning to the next chapter. New features and capabilities, a fresh rebrand, and a mobile app were all built while keeping the past alive.
A lot of frontend coding and iterating over product design. Plus working with users to onboard and train on new features.
